Handbook and Uniform

First, check at the next pack meeting to see if any pre-loved items are available. If you keep an eye out, sometimes uniform pieces show up at thrift shops, too.

Please keep in mind, we are a “tops-up” pack, which means the BSA shorts/pants/socks are optional.

If you want the official uniform website, see here.

Where to Buy

Get Class B pack tee shirt from the pack; scout’s first shirt is free, parents/siblings can also get for a nominal fee (see the treasurer or the tee shirt volunteer for more info)

Check with the pack for pre-loved Class A uniform pieces and patches (availability varies)

Online Scout Shop (you need to attach the patches yourself)

San Diego Scout Shop on Upas Street by Balboa Park (super friendly and knowledgeable staff, and you can pay to have them sew the patches on)

Patch Attachment and Placement

Best option: sew patches on, ideally with a sewing machine, or with a thimble, needle, and thread; basic sewing tutorial here.

Iron on or Patch Magic, but they might not stay on through the wash, and leave behind glue residue; can be a good solution when combined with a few stitches.

Placement guide here.
